Who is an Apex student?
Just about anyone who is wanting to improve their driving skills. Our programs are tailored towards the newest driver as well as the seasoned pro. We guarantee your time spent with us will be the best investment you ever make in your driving.
What kind of clothing should I wear to the school?
Dress comfortably. T-shirts, jeans, and shorts are allowed. Most important, please have comfortable, closed shoes for driving (thin soles are best). Don’t forget your sunscreen too.
Who is eligible to participate in this event?
Students must be at least 16 years of age and possess a current, valid driver’s license. Our events are open to the public.
Is it fun?
Yes! Our biggest goal is for our students to enjoy a safe, fun-filled day while learning skills you will use throughout your life. Our professional instructors love watching you laugh, smile, and earning that “aha” moment.
Can I use my street car?
Yes, of course. You are also welcome to bring your race-prepared car instead.
Do I need a helmet?
Yes, helmets are required. Our insurance provider requires all students and instructors to wear a DOT-approved helmet during our on-track sessions. Minimum helmet rating is M2005 or SA2005.
Can two drivers use one car?
Yes, two drivers can utilize one car. Each driver will have to register separately for the school.
What happens in case of inclement weather?
Rain or shine, the event will carry on as scheduled. If severe weather does cause us to close, we will be glad to reschedule you at a future school.
Will there be food and beverages available?
Yes. Lunch and light snacks will be provided. If you have any dietary restrictions or preferences, you will be prompted to specify during your registration process. We also encourage you to bring your own additional refreshments as well.
How long is each school?
Instruction begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes at 5:00 p.m. Please arrive no later than 7:30 a.m. to allow time to park and complete the check-in process.
How much time is devoted to driving?
The Apex Performance Driving School is designed for you to get as much time in your vehicle as possible. A short welcome driver’s meeting and a mid-day Lunch ‘n Learn debrief are included to better prepare you for the day’s driving sessions.
How large is an average school?
Our schools can vary from 12 up to 24 students on average. Maximum student to instructor ratio is 6:1, so you can always be insured as much one-on-one time with our professional instructors.
Can Level One and Level Two be taken in the same weekend?
Yes, many of our school weekends offer this option, and we highly recommend.
Can I be placed on a waitlist for a school that is sold out?
Yes. If you would like to be placed on a wait list for a specific date, please contact us at [email protected] You will be notified prior to the event if a spot becomes available.
How will I know that I am confirmed for the school?
You will receive a confirmation email once you successfully register for the school. If you do not receive an email, please contact Apex Customer Service by emailing us at [email protected].
What is your cancellation policy?
We accept cancellations and provide refunds up to 30 days prior to the event minus a $25 processing fee. A credit towards a future Apex school will be provided within 30 days of event.
Will I need to sign a legal agreement and waiver regarding liability?
Yes. Students and guests will be required to sign a liability release for the event site as well as a host club’s liability waiver.
